The Fairy and the Sparrow Characters
Concept art of Barragona as she is first introduced in the story. Barragona works at her family’ tavern which is set in Bestalia. Bestalia is the Spanish and Arab inspired land that functions as the setting for the narrative.
From left to right: Barragona, Thaemin, and Armacha, my three original characters. Set in a dark fantasy world, they face trials and tribulations that resonate deeply with the audience. Each character’s journey is crafted to forge a meaningful connection between the viewer and the story, making their struggles both engaging and relatable.
In this brutal drawing, Barragona slices a drunken soldier’s fingers off as retribution for unwanted advances and Belmont eviscerates another for similar behaviors. Although this image visually encapsulates a violent and depraved act, violence is a theme that is normalized in the land of Besaltia where the characters are expected to navigate through and survive a horrifying world.
Barragona stands stoically with a sword beside Riganna, a witch. Barragona is a member of the Ormouro race, inspired by Spanish, Arab, and Jewish cultures. Riganna hails from the Jogglish race, drawing influence from Anglo-Celtic societies.
